Only an OEM Thermostat fixed it.

Use a Subaru thermostat ... some aftermarkets aren't the correct shape (length) and don't open sufficiently despite technically "fitting".
Pick up the AISIN OEM version of your thermostat. It's pretty cheap so no reason not to get the best one instead of some cheaper alternative. Also you can test the function of your thermostat before doing the change by putting it in hot water. You can check the specs of the one you use, but for the AISIN one for my 2012 civic (9th gen), the thermostat starts opening at 170 and is fully open at 190.
Bought a Stant from RockAuto and it has been going strong for over 5 years now.
The Motorcraft thermostat sounds promising though, never have an issue with genuine ford parts.
I used a motorcraft RT-1139 thermostat. Comes with a jiggle valve to help bleed air already installed and cost me 8 bucks. You won’t find any place that says they fit other than some forum posts but they do indeed work, I installed one on my MJ with the only issue being me not refilling the radiator after dumping all the coolant.
I wanted to upgrade from plastic and got an aluminum Mishimoto thermostat, but i didn’t notice that it opens at 180°. Can i get away with the 180° thermostat, or should i ship it back and re-order a different, higher rated thermostat?
Ich hatte mal für meinen Ford Focus Mk2 ein neues Theromostat von Ridex eingebaut. Und es war einfach schon kaputt ????
Hatte dann was ordentliches genommen und das hat dann hingehauen.
I warranty my shitty duralast thermostat (I hate duralast but when I gotta get to work the next day it works in a pinch it works) now after a 5 am swap I’m good to go
I’ve changed mine once already recently (it was a duralast thermostat because I’m stupid, that might be the current issue) and it’s still acting similar and trending towards overheating at 60+ mph even with the radiator fans on high. The radiator in lines are frigid after it’s been running at mid/high temps and the radiator out lines are hot
