K&N Air filter

You could look at a K&N drop in filter. They flow better and can give a little performance boost.

Pros: flow better, performance boost

K&N Air filter

For my 2018 tuned GT, I just got a K&N high flow drop in air filter to swap into it. You can get it off of American muscle for like $60. I'd say do that and save more money for tune/exhaust.

Pros: save money

I recommend K&N. Some say it helps the car feel sportier (not really that noticeable imo), but you can buy the cleaning kit (about $20) and reuse the filter. It’ll help you stay on top of maintenance since it’s a lot easier to clean it 2-3 times a year as opposed to buying a brand new one 2-3 times a year. You can clean the filters so many times with the cleaning kit too.

Pros: reusable, easy to clean

  • Power:

I recently replaced my filter with a K&N. I was hoping for a little more felt power and better fuel economy. I've had my 2010 Prius IV for 4 years and have put over 60k miles on it so I'm pretty "in tune" with it. I haven't noticed any difference in either area.

Cons: no difference
Mileage: 60000 km

K&N Air filter

The K&N high flow filters actually make a large difference... IF and ONLY IF you upgrade the intake and delete the OEM airbox with it. If you plan to keep the OEM intake and airbox, it will make not much of a difference.

Pros: large difference with intake upgrade
Cons: little difference with OEM intake

The OEM ones on 3rd Gen Tacomas are better believe it or not. That KN one is going to dirty up quick and mess with your maf sensor.

Cons: dirty quickly, maf sensor issues
