Alternator Denso or OEM Volvo
I went with a reman Denso alternator over a new off brand alternator for my Camry and had no issues.
Update: I ended up sourcing my own parts and sent them a quote from someone else and they matched it. Will have a Denso alternator installed and Costco battery for about $1k.
Manual, buy a reman denso or used or new OEM off the eBay or other seller, harder to rebuild those in my experience.
Have never had to warranty out a denso alternator.
Denso and alternators from Toyota are the only ones we\u2019ll use for this exact reason.
Similar symptoms when my '05 factory alternator died. Get a jump then measure the voltage at the battery. If it's ~14VDC, the alternator is charging. If it is only ~12VDC replace the alternator.
Denso or nothing. You'll be doing this again in about 2 years if you chose poorly.
Get a denso reman or be prepared to replace it again in a year.
The alternator (new OEM Denso, 2nd one, installed about 100kmi ago) on my wife's 2007 Solara v6 3MZFE with 227kmi just died last night. She didn't make it home.
I bought reman denso 2 years ago and it lasted 1 year.
