Battery ODYSSEY or OEM Subaru
I finally spent the money on an odyssey extreme on my 7.3 along with an aftermarket starter and battery cables. Absolute game changer in the wintertime. I could leave it out in the cold for a week and it would start faster than the old battery setup would in the summer.
Of course, you can get a new battery, and I recently had a new battery 80% covered by the dealer, since this is a very well known and documented problem. (My battery was going on 6 years old, so I felt like the discount made it a good time to replace it anyways. The discount was specifically because it is a known issue, and supposedly the new battery is more powerful and “solves” the problem, per the dealer.)
I’ve ran odyssey in my RZRs and they always held up through abuse and neglect.
Buy an odyssey. It will pay itself off in the long run nor let you down. I just ordered one for my Rubicon.
I'm running a 320 amp alternator with AGM odyssey battery so far no issues
OEM Subaru batteries and not the best. When it's time for replacement go with a 3rd party battery.
A new battery at 10k miles.
Battery died around 50k miles.
My 2020 Outback OEM battery only lasted 3-ish years.
The OEM Subaru battery does not have a lot of reserve power.
