Battery OEM Toyota or OEM Subaru
Batteria cambiata nel 2024 avevo ancora l'originale Toyota che m'è durata 15anni.
As someone who bought their first Prius V (Lithium Ion- Australian Model) in 2013 No issues with any degradation in battery from 12 years ago.
After 16 years and 140k miles, our Prius battery is still going strong.
I bought mine last year 2016 SR5 4WD at 116k miles. I'm at 140k today and it feels like new. I only had to swap the battery because I forgot to check how recent it was when I bought it.
My neighbor bought a Prius 15 years ago, whoever they came out, the dealer told him it would cost $5000 for a new battery replacement. It lasted until 2024, it cost $1500 to have new battery put in,aftermarket of course
I have a 10+ year old Prius C that had a 100k-mile warranty on the battery. It failed at 108k and cost $4k to replace. It's at 230k miles now, and I expect to have to replace it again (but who knows?)
It’s the battery problem. Had same thing happen 3x. No issues after battery upgrade that subi paid for.
this happened to me on Michigan Ave in Chicago during traffic. I have a 2020 forester as well. Has happened about 4x in the past few weeks; brought it to the dealer, they told me I just needed a new battery!
As I came to a stop, my car shut down as it does normally but the traffic began moving just as that happened. So as my car auto-stopped, I took my foot off the gas and the entire car seized - My Eye Sight was disabled, dashboard lights lit up and a high-pitched "There's clearly a fucking problem" chime screamed out at me. I had to put my car in to park (on a 4-lane highway in Boston traffic), stop the engine, restart and then recommence my drive. Fuck this feature in traffic. I'm turning that shit off from now on. EDIT: A huge "thank you" to this Sub for informing that this is a battery issue, and there was a battery drain settlement that should cover this - I specifically called that out in my service notes, and they replaced the battery under that warranty at no charge.
It's a known issue that Subaru batteries fail much too early. Subaru began warranting great numbers of them a few years ago.... And they kept using "The same faulty batteries"!!! ...and they still are.
