Zimmermann's Coat Z rotors are excellent. I've used them on many BMWs with no issues.
I personally have the Zimmerman Rotors, and Akebono pads. Great, cheap setup.
Zimmerman-Akebono combination is blizz
I use Zimmermans too & EBC red stuff pads much less dust then standard & nicer bite

I use Zimmerman rotors and OEM pads from fcpeuro. I like the bite the oem pads have compared to ceramic. More brake dust yes, but I want a car to stop as fast as possible.
I've run Zimmerman rotors with EBC red stuff ceramic pads. No complaints.
I have Zimmerman rotors with Textar pads on my 19 alltrack. I’m actually looking at these for my Tiguan too!
Zimmermann discs are great, pads are up to your driving style. Just a note, if you choose any of the EBC pads on FCP go with the yellowstuff. I've had redstuff and they did not hold up well on spirited runs.
I keep hearing my brakes squeal when I drive and it's really bothering, so I'm trying to figure out what could be causing it or if it's something I have to deal with. I bought a Zimmermann kit with Textar semi metallic pads. My buddy thinks I should've removed the Coat Z anticorrosive off the rotors before installing but it says on their website it's made to be installed with it on. The only thing I can think of is maybe I didn't lube the moving surfaces enough or I need to do a better job bedding them in.
