Brake pads Bosch or DBA
I went with Bosch QuietCast rotors and pads . The Akebono pads performed well, but wore out faster than I'd expected. I don't know if the low wear on them caused scoring of the rotors or if it was the calipers not doing a proper job... but I did not detect a loss in brake performance, which was really strange. This was happening to the rear, so maybe the front end brake system was compensating.
Also my rear brakes say Bosch on the center of the pad so mine could be different from yours if yours aren’t showing the brand.
The anodized drilled/slotted rotors just got their 2nd pad change with Bosch quietcast ceramic pads. Zero noise, much less brake dust and last longer than the 2 years of the messy oe pads on our 3.7 ton Yukon.
Just bought some Bosch brake pads and rotors off of Amazon. Made in China as well. The quality of the products were good too. Fit perfectly and works very well.
I use Bosch QuietCast brake pads. Never had a problem and work great.
So today I put on a new pair of Bosch brake pads, flushed the brake fluid, and removed that sensor from the windshield washer reservoir. It was too easy.
I used Bosch pads and rotors when I last changed my front pads [available from Amazon.com]. 13K on the new setup with no problems - stops well, quiet, no vibrations - and the non-friction surfaces of the rotor aren't rusty.
i just put on new pads and rotors, front and rear...i bought Bosch Quiet cast and 100 miles in i like them. Shims are molded to the pad and no noise at all. Stop a little better than what ever i had on there before.
I formerly owned a 1988 300E and sold it with 150,000 miles. This vehicle was incredible and changed the way that I look at automobiles forever. I honestly believe that the 124 chassis Mercedes-Benz was one of the very best cars ever built. The rear brakes would simply scream if you used anything other than original brake pads.
