Brake pads Brembo or STOPTECH
Compared to my old pads, which felt very mushy and all or nothing, the brembos are extremely linear but also stop a lot better, and more consistently. They aren't going to make your car an f1 car but they are excellent and what they need to do and be.
Brembo are decent in all honesty ive had them on all my cars bar 1. My nismo comes with them as standard so i just keep em on. They do a damn good job at stopping,
If got the brembo pads and discs on for about 2 months now. They are good enough for the daily driving. Brake dust still a bitch
I run Stoptech 305s and they exceed my expectations
I just snagged some brembo pads rotors from fcp and saved myself almost 50% compared to dealer pricing AT MY COST, and the brembos are also an upgrade. Oh did I mention they have lifetime warranty?
I did Stoptechs in the front and Golf R rears, I canyon carve in it and the brakes are legit. Heavy, heavy repeated braking, no fade.
Stoptech Street pads for the Akebono brakes. I've only got 16k miles on them and they still look new, despite having drilled & slotted rotors. I do heavily downshift and engine brake, which explains the lack of wear. I'd buy them again as they're quiet, but they do produce a fair amount of brake dust.
if you're after brands of parts, the go to ones are Brembo, EBC, Pagid, ATE, Bosch, and TRW.
There was a noticable increase in stopping power, but it came with a significant increase in brake dust. They also started squealing recently. I recently checked the pad life and it's been okay. So far I've put 10k on em, and I'm estimating that 1/3 to 1/2 of their life has been used
I've had issues with my EuroCarPart "Brembo" pads overheating to the point of squealing for a couple of miles after some spirited driving.
