Brake pads Brembo or Textar
But I will say the pads are great, they stop well, they never squeak...but man my iron-x budget is going fast.
I recommend Textar, great bite and no need of pre-heating. They also don't cause too much wear on the discs and on the other hand don't generate much brake dust.
I've got factory Brembo's on my 2014 Jeep GC SRT...it took some getting used to when driving as the brakes are very responsive!
Around $2200 for a full brake job on my Jeep SRT's Brembo brakes! Stops on a friggin' dime too!
Textar is an OEM supplier, and they're not that expensive - run with those. Same amount of dust as stock, but no noise, and stock like braking characteristics.
He also really likes the responsiveness of the brakes.
Brakes.. It's been said, but cost more to replace, are heavier but more powerful, so an advantage from that standpoint.
GermanAutoParts.com has front BREMBO brake pads available for 1986-1989 Scirocco 16V models. Brembo's premium ceramic compound provides increased stopping power and reduced dust combined with quiet, smooth operation. The multi-layer shims minimize noise, vibration and harshness for quiet, smooth performance. Brembo Ceramic pads are an excellent choice if you want to minimize dust and noise while increasing braking performance in general street use.
Brake pads were replaced abt 2,000 miles ago, and the rotors; apparently can last till i have to replace the pads again.
switching to a new set of stockers showed me exactly how different the dimensions are. they look the same, but the fit is no where near the correct size for these carriers. the brembo pads bounced around like crazy. its alright i was able to return them but i was hoping to get rid of dust. maybe ill try to get a replacement set and see if they fit any better
