Brake pads EBC or Bosch
I have about 45k miles on a set of EBC greenstuff and StopTech slotted rotors. I’m not hard on my brakes and my pad life is still good. Much lower dust than stock and roughly the same bite/engagement as stock. Maybe slightly more sensitive.
I’ve had stock set up, powerstop rotors with Hawk LTS Truck/SUV pads, and my current set up is Bosch severe duty pads with Advics premium rotors. So far the current set up is my favorite. I really prefer the immediate “bite” of semi metallic pads.
I just installed EBC Yellowstuff brake pads on my wife's 2021 Mazda3 turbo, made a huge difference.
I have EBC HH. Love them. Great grip and stopping power.
EBC yellow pads, Bosch ESi6 fluid, klmperformance steel braided lines. Maybe a slotted rotor to really eat the pads and get another few %. I did each mod one by one and didn’t notice much performance difference but just getting a new pad in there was huge. I rubbed partially through a line and swapped out to raysbestos pads and a rubber temporary line. Feels the same, still great, and on 285s. I don’t want to pay so much for ebc yellows but if you are towing shit then don’t skimp. Stock brakes sucked once I went to 265s. Before the 285s the truck would stop extremely well especially with a stiffer suspension (Bilstein 6112s with 700lb springs). I’ll go with slotted rotors next and a mid tier pad.
I replaced my stock brake pads with EBC Green Stuff. There's been times where I need to make an emergency stop and *holy shit will they stop*. I think the seatbelt bruised my chest the one time.
EBCs. I also did SS lines but my brakes feel amazing. And they’re barely wearing with 4,000 miles. And I hard brake all the time.
EBC BlueStuff NDX has my vote! They perform excellent on the track and are quiet for the street. I use stock rotors but feel free to upgrade those if you feel like it’s worth it for you. Upgrade the brake fluid as well. I used Motul 660.
I run EBC yellows on a heavy car (Kia Stinger GT) and they do ok. The problem with TNiA events (especially the novice group), there's usually A LOT of traffic, and no one is pushing the limit into braking zones.
People on the internet always talk trash about ebc yellow, and I assumed it was just internet trash talk. This post is 100% accurate though, they absolutely disappeared on the track.
