Brake pads EBC or R1 Concepts
Last week I got R1 Concept drilled & slotted with EBC RedStuff brake pads. This is my 2nd set of redstuff pads. Did about 40k miles on the first set with no squeal or shakes.
The steel lines are great addition. The EBC pads add significant bite, but I did warp my stock rotor with a full weekend at Road Atlanta. Put a Galfer rotor on there.
They seem good so far. I'm not very handy and I was able to put them on pretty easily.
I just changed my oem rear pads to them after 160,000km and it works well without any vibrations.
I’m now 500 miles into the EBC Redstuff brake pads I recently installed. It was kind of dicey at first, like “did I make a bad move?” dicey. Very rough stopping in the first 50 miles, then just mildly rough for another 150 or so. The good news is that stopping is buttery smooth now that the pads are fully bedded in. Just smooth as silk.
I went with ebc green as red was overkill for red is less dust and heavier cars from my understanding. The greens do me just fine as i dont beat my vb from point a to point b all the time.
Yellow stuff. If you don't track they're the better value. Less dust on your wheels, they'll perform in the cold better
The Brembo pads from euro’s are basically fakes. They’re an extreamly basic pad no different to Mann etc. I run EBC yellow stuff in my scooby which is my daily and they’re shit hot once abit warned up. But they do give off a fuck load of brake dust.
I'm jumping in here on red stuff EBCs. They're good for initial bite but have awful brake fade on light applications and are noisy as hell. I've pulled the rears off twice to smear the backing plate in grease just to keep them quiet. Probably should've just replaced them entirely. Not worth.
I went Zimmerman rotors and EBC red, big mistake. They are super noisy.
