Brake pads EBC or Textar
Ebc redstuff and dba rotors are what I’m running and I love them
I did change my F30 with Textar and it was plug n play. No need to go big if you don’t go on track days often imo.
Those are what are known as track day pads. I use them a lot for autocross I'll use them for track sprints, I use them in the rear for full track days. This is on a Mustang with the six piston brembos in the front and the standard single piston calipers in the back.
EBC RP1 is a great pad up there with Hawk DTC. they tend to wear quicker but are softer on rotors.
I am running SR11 right now and pretty impressed. Big bite, virtually no need to bed. Its not quite, no good track pad is but its also not that bad compared to other pads I have had.
I run rp1 on street they work great no squeaking. Good on track too.
I think the Fiesta actually has great brakes, even for its size. The only reason I would upgrade is to fight brake fade. That means new pads, fluid, hoses, and potentially a BBK (for heat dissipation ONLY, at the cost of more unsprung mass). The previous owner beat the brakes to an inch of their life so I swapped out new EBC Yellowstuff pads and EBC slotted discs, along with Motul RBF600 brake fluid. Braided hoses are in the garage waiting to go on at the next service. All in all a nicely sorted setup.
I have EBC Bluestuff on my M4. I think they are a good hybrid pad, and fine for sprint or autocross, but they will melt as an endurance pad. Sessions longer than 30 min on brake heavy courses and they will glaze.
I have personally ran these rotors with EBC HH pads. I blued them on my first track day and swapped to used OEMs before the next. They felt fine as far as bite but the immediate bluing shows they’re not up to any amount of real heat. If I ran them for a track day or two more they surely would’ve faded badly and warped. I don’t recommend them.
I'm going to shit on EBC HH. They're popular, easy to get, and somewhat better than OEM. But they suck ass. Every time I need more brake power they fade. Every time I want the brakes to bite they just shrug and I feel like I need to clamp down. Progressive riding? Sure. Emergency braking? Hell naw. Need to cut speed for sharp corners? Good luck. So I've switched to Vesrah and never looked back.
