Brake pads Ferodo or OEM Mazda
Ive been running the ferodo DS2500 and it seems to work well for occasional track use and mixed daily as well. Not too noisy on my older 911.
I bought the Mazda a while ago and hated it. I improved my skills and bought it again last night. It was a fucking blast. Have to be careful with the brakes and backend sliding but it is a straights rocket and has decent cornering without any assists.
Right now I use Ferodo DS 3.12 on RE71RS tires. They are pretty high bite and take some getting used to. I might go a rung lower on the friction scale and go with DS 1.11 next time because of that. But the DS 3.12 are unfadeable and very consistent.
Ferodo DS2500 are a great compromise pad. They’re a bit more on the race side of things but I never had issues with them being sketchy. Just get a bit of heat into them early to make sure they’re there.
I'm going to tell you ferodo DS 1.11. Street driven on them a ton very easy on rotors. Endurance pad, much better than other things I see mentioned a lot like it blows my mind when people think RSL29s are better. I don't have an M3 but I have a 330ci which has the same brakes, and I've had lots of other cars from Corvettes to Mustangs and camaros. Have run that compound a ton.
I think they work just fine. They squealed a bit even after running them in, it stopped however after the first track day where i properly cooked the brakes.
If you want a bit more performance without loosing cold braking, use ferodo ds performance, they're amazing price-quality wise.
Fairly okay with the ferodo ds2500, they're not made for longer than 20min sessions tho. They will fade and overheat.
I’m running DS2500 on my GTI and they are just not *quite* robust enough as I have progressed into the more advanced groups.
I hated Ferodo DS2500 on the street. Because they need to be warm to perform. And if I am driving on a highway for couple minutes or through a city, they loose the heat and perform badly for a bit.
