Brake pads Mintex or Duralast
I’ve always used Zimmerman rotors and Mintex pads, and have yet to find a better combo. I’ve tried Brembo, Stoptech, Bosch, but nothing has pleased me like Mintex [pedal feel, stopping power, no noise, very low dust [especially when used on drilled rotors]].
I've bought brake pads, brake calipers and rotors from Duralast (Autozone). Not one problem with them. I'd do it again in heartbeat.
Ive got about 1k miles on the Autozone pads now and absolutely LOVE them. The feel is much better (progressive as opposed to grabby) and the dust! Oh the dust! Similar to the rear wheels which means I can drive further than 20 feet without having to clean them.
I had the Duramax Ceramic front set installed in my car last week. little to no dust. performs pretty much just like stock, only differences i've noticed is that its less grabby initially, and braking has a more linear feel.
Yep! Had them on for some months now. Cheap and effective, dust problem gone, end of story.
I just installed them on Saturday and I'm really liking it so far. Very linear feeling as well, and similar to stock, but less grabby out of the gate. The one main thing I noticed today is that my wheels aren't caked with brake dust, as they usually are with just one day of driving in stop and go LA traffic!
I have the DBA 4000s and really like them--but I have the Mintex pads and in the cold, they squeel horribly. But, low dust and decent performance.
I've heard there was in issue with this with mintex pads for the Passat. the red boxes would just start up under high heat
I had a set of Mintex Red Boxes on my '98 GTI-VR6. Other than producing less dust (or a less-visible dust), I thought they were garbage. The stock pads stopped and felt better.
mintex reds are WORSE than stock in my opinion....i bought some, and got ride of em a few months later
