Brake pads POWER STOP or Mintex
I installed PowerStop Drilled & Slotted Rotors with PowerStop Pads on my front brake setup. VERY powerful brakes and never had any issues with dust, noise, etc.
I found PowerStop quite good for aftermarket pads. Their Z17 ceramic will be a reasonable OEM-like, low-dust, long-life alternative to your Elantra.
I just bought and installed the power stop z26 street warrior front and rear pads and rotors kit from rock auto for about 460 after taxes and shipping.
Installed smoothly, followed the steps and cleaned the bracket and whatever the rotor mounts to with a wire brush and brake cleaner. Having no issues whatsoever.
Almost 20k miles and still brakes super smooth.
For pads I'm going powerstop z26, good reviews on these and least dusty of the performance ceramic pad options from what people are saying. For rotors I'm going advics high carbon blanks. I've used slotted, drilled/dimples and rotors with both and I've always had cracking or warping issues over time. While they don't look as cool all I care is longevity for a daily driver and I don't planing to track my IS lol.
I've been running the stock brakes with aftermarket pads for a few years and it's worked well for me. Mintex 1144, Ferodo DS2500 and Roddisons pads have all been great.
I have Powerstop pads on my MJ, possibly rotors too, can’t remember for sure though, and they don’t squeak at all. I also run Powerstop pads on my personal truck as well as company trucks and they seem to do very well. Much better than OEM Ram pads, that’s for sure.
Powerstop brakes were good on my 2016 GT, and my Duramax truck. They only lasted 1 year on my Q50. StopTech slotted rotors were a pretty nice upgrade over stock and over the Powerstop brakes. They had zero brake fade and lasted longer than anything else I’ve ever ran.
Had TRW pads on the rear and they're dusty af! Replaced them a wk ago with POWER STOP CRK7176 from RockAuto and all is Gucci.
Ford brake pads have consistently sucked ass, they stained up the wheels on my focus st and just destroy rotors and make a huge mess in general. I switched to power stop ceramics and slotted rotors, and they have lasted years on with no visible signs of wear on the rotors, and a pad slap on the rear set once.
