POWER STOP Brake pads

Go with powerstop for sure. I bought their complete front and rear kit with drilled slotted rotors, bigger bore calipers, z23 performance padsand braided steel lines. Cost me about 800 dollars but if you want just the fronts that's an insanely good price for the front kit even if it doesn't include calipers.Powerstop is the only brand I see in your picture lineup that actually is performance driven. For the record as well I bought the kit 3 years ago and it's been solid I just replaced front and rear pads a couple months ago for the first time and the pads were perfectly even. Haven't had one issue in about 35k miles of driving.

Pros: good price, even wear
Mileage: 35000 km

POWER STOP Brake pads

Just changed mine at 65k for first time. Went with powerstops non slotted and happy so far. I loved my oem brakes and the amount of life I got out of them.

Pros: happy so far, long lasting
Mileage: 65000 km

POWER STOP Brake pads

I've used Powerstop on various other vehicles and have been pretty happy with them. I wouldn't recommend using them on something like an RS, but I'd put them on another daily driver without hesitation.

Pros: happy with them

POWER STOP Brake pads

I put the pads/rotors on the front and just the pads on the rear of my 1st gen, and they are great. I would recommend them and say they're not overkill. Plenty of info online about the oem setup leaving something to be desired. I don't have to apply half the pressure I used to in order to get the same stopping power.

Pros: great stopping power, not overkill

I run Z36s on my 2001. They are fantastic, and have served me well towing and off roading. You probably don't *need* drilled and slotted rotors, but if you're doing it yourself you're already saving money. It's an upgrade from stock for sure.

Pros: fantastic, upgrade from stock

So I just got my powerstop kit installed yesterday. It was $355 from autoparts warehouse and they threw in free shipping. The kit looks pretty good the nickel plating looks very clean but they don't look as agressive as some of the other kits I've seen. The install was not bad at all although I ran into a snag resetting the rear calipers (I didn't do my homework on what tool to reset them with but I eventually got some help). On my first drive I was not impressed with the stopping power of the ceramic pads and the slotted cross drilled rotors (I was thinking it would have this incredible improvement because powerstop claims the pads don't need to be seated to be at peak performance). I beg to differ they were no different than my oem brakes at all yesterday while driving but after having put about 100 miles on them I am starting to see a lot of improvement in my stopping distances without having to mash the pedal. The pads were pretty noisy at first but today are dead quiet (unlike my oem pads). The pedal doesn't feel any different as far as weight but I don't have to press in on it as much to make sudden stops (I thought I was going to see my lunch again today while in Charlotte traffic at one point). Overall I think it isn't a bad upgrade for somebody on a budget like me who wants to have more performance out of your brake system that functions as an everyday driver or could be used on an autox day. I think I'm going to try it this year . I will try to post some pics of the car with the kit installed and keep you guys updated on how the kit feels if there is any changes over the next few weeks or any brake fade.

Pros: improvement in stopping distances, pads are quiet
Cons: noisy at first, seating required
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 161 km

POWER STOP Brake pads

Get the raybestos for $81 there isn’t any need to spend any more money than that. The power stop brakes are a joke I have them on my truck now and they are not as good as the brakes I took off also the coating doesn’t stop rust.

Cons: not as good, coating ineffective
