Brake pads POWER STOP or TRW
I used the Power Stop premium on my last Ram truck without issues. Bought them again for the current truck.
I put PowerStop on my tC last year and it's been totally fine.
changing brakes and rotors on the 21 cx5 was the easiest brake job I have ever done haha. All four corners took >3 hours including getting out many unnecessary tools and the after test drive. Parts weren't expensive at all for powerstop pads and raybestos rotors.
I've used Power Stops on personal vehicles without issue.
I have their Z23 brake pads and they're solid.
If you think you're going to do some more events, or are adamant that you'd feel more confident with a track type pad, then a good budget track option might be the Powerstop Track Day Spec. Make sure to get the "spec" (PSA-) and not the regular Track Day pads (PST-). I've run these for about 6 events and looks like I can squeeze out one more.
You're safe to run them on the street for the handful of days for the swap around the event, they do have less cold bite, but they still stop you. I mostly don't like them for the street because the dust is pretty intense. A little dusty and noisy, no big deal, but the dust can be very hard to get off your wheels if the dust gets wet later...not unlike concrete.
But they're a decent, budget friendly, track pad. They're something like $100-110 for front set and $90-100 for rear set.
I use powerstops. Think they are a good brand. Haven’t let me down.
Power Stop stuff is amazing, I am super impressed with their pads material. Zero brake dust and stop on a dime.
I’ve used trw and jurid pads with Zimmerman rotors and an R1 concepts kit, with their most aggressive pad compound. The TRW ceramic pads are fine, a bit noisy when cold in my experience. Jurid was the same. Zimmerman rotors warped on me in about 20k miles and the car was really only driven in the city so I, personally, wouldn’t pay the slight premium to get them.
I feel Powerstop is more hype than “real”. Made in China.
