Brake pads Project Mu or Hawk Performance
i have the complete g60 front brake swap with stainless lines and 22mm master cylinder. i must say it is one of the best mods i have done to improve the truck. huge difference from the slotted rotors and hawk blue pads on my 9.4s and i am just running the oe pads and rotors on the g60 brake setup.
X2 hps had them on my mkv and loved them. Even did a track day with them
I have Hawk Performance Ceramic pads and Eurospec slotted roters on my GLI daily driver and they've always seemed to bite right away.
HP+ is a good pad for street/autox, and some light track use. They will dust a good amount, and have a squeel now and then. I found it has a minor tendancy to fade on faster road courses
I've had Hawk Performance Ceramic pads on GLI daily driver for 2+ years. They stop very well and keep the RC's nice and clean...almost no dust.
I've had Hawk performance Ceramic pads on my GLI for 2+ years. No problems at all and they stop very well.
I've used Hawk HPS pads on every car I've owned (4) and i've never regretted it. Its a good upgrade from OEM without to much squealing.
I currently have Powerslot rotors with Hawk ceramics and I do like them, but they're not exactly inexpensive.
I have tried the following pads (and still have them on my shelf): Stock Pagids, Mintex Reds, HPS, HP+, Ferodo DS2500 (fronts), Carbotech P+ (fronts). I have used each for several thousand miles after breaking each in per manufacturers' recommendations. And yes, this means I was changing brake pads at least every few weeks. Rotors too, I also have 3 sets of front rotors. This was all in pursuit of GREAT braking at autocross, then on track. I don't know if the HPS are the best street pad, but they're decent. That's how I meant it. Call them a 7 of 10. They aren't what I want in a street pad, but for someone that never does autocross or track days - they're good. Personally I thought they were very similar to the stock 20AE Pagids. (I originally went from Stock to Mintex to HPS to Stock and back to HPS again, btw) The HPS dusted as much as the stockers and had similar bite. I didn't test their fade resistance. With a stock braking system, I think HP+ and DS2500 are both IFFY track pads. The HP+ are great as long as you don't overheat them and replace them every 2 or 3 events.
my experience with HP+ is that they squeeled annoyingly high when they were cold. I took them off after track days.
