Brake pads STOPTECH or Centric
Funny but I gave the Centric brand ceramic pads a shot and did not see any difference with Akebono. Same bute, no dust, no esting rotors. Been about 5 weeks now and abiut 1000 miles. No issues
Stoptech sports are the best dual use pad I’ve used…they’re great for fast street driving and they last.
I ended up buying stoptech all around and they lsst a twice longer and have a better bite for street use.
Stoptech Sport 309 pads are all I need on my stock power car.
Lol definitely avoid duralast. My favorite combo is Centric OE coated rotors and Centric posi-quiet pads.
I went to Stoptech Street pads at 35k miles on the fronts only, took care of the issue after a few bed-in runs. Still no shudder at 75k and original rotors
Grimmspeed MCB, STOPTECH Sport package (pads, rotors, lines) and the GR86 Shock/Strut retrofit.
The MK7 R community seems to like Centric Posi-Quiet Ceramic Though I had a love-hate relationship on them. Centric claims no bedding was necessary... so, I listened to them and found the lack of braking dangerous. Then, one late night, on an empty highway, I bedded them in with about 10, 70-5 mph medium to hard slow downs, got the rotors heated up and brake pads smelling... then drove on the highway for about half hour, then turned around and went home and let the brakes completely cool. Then I loved the brakes.
I've had Centric pads and rotors on the back (90944519) for 5 years and 40,000 miles. They're ok, but they're much noisier than OEM and tend to grab/groan at very low speed.
Stop tech pads have a lot of brake dust. I had them and hated them. I went with the power stop pads low dust on all four and powerstop drill and slotted rotors up front. I already had stop tech slotted in the rear.
