VALEO Clutch kit

I’ve installed a few of these and the only comment was that there was a slight amount of clutch chatter vs. stock.

Highly recommend them, and would choose them for any applicable use.

Pros: highly recommended, good for any use
Cons: slight clutch chatter

VALEO Clutch kit

I have a Valeo kit in the Lemons race car that has lasted through 6 race weekends and a few track days so far. No issues at all, nothing but abuse. My e36 is a 318ti.

Pros: no issues, withstands abuse
Vehicle: BMW

I have about…2 years on my Valeo kit and I’m very happy. The clutch bites really well, the car responds to throttle blips/heel toe really well. I have zero complaints. The flywheel chatter is noticeable, but fixable. If it drives you nuts you can get your idle raised by like 200rpm and it’ll quiet down, but honestly I don’t mind it much. Racecar noises.

Pros: clutch bites well, good throttle response, no complaints
Cons: flywheel chatter noticeable

VALEO Clutch kit

if you are bone stock (or even stage 1) I would personally recommend the Valeo single mass clutch kit. I had this kit in 2 of my cars (one of which was stage 1+) and never had a problem with it.

Pros: never had a problem

I know a lot of folks swear by Exedy, however the one and only Exedy clutch I have ever used is in my 06 and it shudders like crazy. I like LUK and have used a dozen times without issue.

Pros: reliable, no issues (LUK)
Cons: shudders like crazy (Exedy)
Vehicle: Subaru Forester

Exedy Clutch kit

Buy oem. Go on any rotary vender (atkins, mazdatrix) and order oem exedy #1007 I think . I tried saving money ordered from ebay but pilot and release/ throwout bearing was wrong and cost me more in long run. Exedy stage 1 has throwout bearing issues apparently. If you want a slight upgrade, buy the oem exedy s2 rx8 clutch kit.

Pros: OEM reliable
Cons: wrong bearings, throwout bearing issues
Vehicle: Mazda
Part number: 1007

I manual swapped the car myself and used a stock clutch fork, [this](https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1326451&cc=1134010&pt=1993&jsn=18&_nck=HllVxRCey1%2B2aVRDo41oQXhbegy63eH0ZQw4Qu2hbnVNrSa9QiFztXFB8fAiad4cNnjyg1Wh75cdlSCw6212A%2BF7sjOu10NFmttFaSg9TgmJ79BOXctBfgOsvzChLR%2FJb1t2NdrLb7j5Izi9VCWKZEoPuIDDobaM7Nivo%2FfSWA9mToJBXGAQcYvUFR0tXWI0vw63Op9RQQBMSocBR2FUeL%2BQPlhbXGbm4WTSnmuf%2BkU50Z9HUqkperMi8C8R6rldqwLO%2Fm5akTCRGFR%2B9gblQ3PsI4JdJiCZS%2FNe5MkyloNGyW1guyER%2F1sHrCMGt%2F8g) Valeo kit and [this](https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=8116052&cc=1134010&pt=1972&jsn=13) cable. Right from the start it was very heavy and I just put up with it but I've recently been in another fox which had a much lighter pedal, inline with what i'm used to with cable clutches.

Cons: very heavy
Vehicle: Ford

Be careful with the Exedy flywheel. The dowel pin could fall out and cause lots of damage. After it happened to me, I just removed the dowel pins after I bolted the clutch pressure plate down since they are only used to align it when you install the pressure plate. I didn't think the extra pedal effort of the Exedy stage 1 clutch was worth it and went back to OEM. Speaking of, the bearings that come with the Exedy clutch kits are now made in China and don't last that long, even though the other parts are made in Japan. I went OEM with the bearings (clutch release/throw out and pilot) this time around after I had to prematurely replace my clutch because of the bearings.

Cons: dowel pin issue, extra pedal effort, bearings don't last
Vehicle: Mazda 3
