Engine oil Castrol or VALVOLINE
I run Valvoline VR1 20W-50. I believe during cooler seasons you can run a thinner (less viscous) oil.
I use Valvoline R&P 0w-20 and my engine sounds healthy. so does my mom’s Velar. I think whats more important is using the correct viscosity and changing it on time.
ive used Castrol in all my cars ive owned, One being a Kia, and then two Hyundai Velosters (VT and my N), so Castrol Edge 5w30 is what mine gets
Valvoline restore and protect oil or shell rotella t6 oil....
The t6 diesel oil has all the detergents you need to maybe clean out the rings. (And meet the more stringent european standards).
I've been using 15w40 diesel motor oil in the AMC/Jeep flat tappet engines for nearly 20 years. Castrol makes a line called GTX Classic that's formulated for flat tappet engines as well
5-30 Valvoline restore & protect is working wonders on my 2.5. Visibly cleaning out deposits and engine running stronger
I use Castrol Magnatec A3/B4 10W-40 part synthetic. 3 years now and no problems.
I switched to valvoline restore and protect on my 06 is250 and it’s working great. The valves are a lot quieter compared to the previous oil I was using which was Kirkland synthetic.
Regardless, I haven't heard of Aral, but I wouldn't knock it without proof that's worse than Castrol.
my vw eats full synthetic castrol 5w40. thats what the dealership recommended to me.
