Engine oil LIQUI MOLY or MOTUL
Sounds like you already have your answer, but yes, the Motul 8100 X-Cess is a good oil, probably better than their VW specific oil.
Been using Motul on my 3.2 for the past two oil changes. Haven't had any issues.
I had use both and i have driven more miles without needing to refill with motul. But motul > mobil one
I have always liked and used Redline in my non-German cars. In my German cars, I have used either Lubro Moly (also known as Liqui Moly) or Pentosin, both in 5w40. Great synthetic oils, imo. I would not run Mobil or Castrol products if you gave them to me for free.
I use Liqui-Moly 5w40 and have with several VWs. Great oil, imo.
LiquiMoly 5w40 full syn...........its some good shizzzz and at a fare price
I always ran the Motul Grand Prix in my shifter, I never had any engine problems. Still run it in my dirt bike, I love the smell of it, too.
I have only used Lubromoly/Liquimoly 5w-30 Full synthetic with the Mos2 Additive. Molydenum sulfide from liquimoly and my car runs super quiet and idle very smooth. I change my oil every 2500 miles..no matter what. Oil pressure is very good, zero shavings in the oil between oil changes. Additionally, I use the liquimoly engine clean between changes and like I mentioned before the car runs superb...no complaints here.
I use MOTUL for my oil.
When I changed to full ester Motul in my motorbike, there was a noticeable reduction in the time it took for the startup rattles to quieten down.
