Engine oil Mobil or MOTUL
The one that seems to have made the greatest difference (non-tracking) is the one referenced below in either 5w50, 5w40, or the two of them mixed together. Per the relevant gauges, the 996 runs a bit cooler and the viscosity (via oil pressure readings across running temperatures and times) stays higher.
My Saab (2003 9-5 Arc Wagon 3.0 turbo) has a sticker that says Mobil 1
OEM oil is made by cheapest bidder who was able to fill the minimum requirements by the already cheapskate GM.
my 2 cents - use MOTUL DEXOS 2 SPECIFIC. Or some other premium oil. Oil is the most important fluid your car has. Cheaping out on it just stupid.
My car at 150k extensively used Shell 10w60, and I switched it to Motul 10w60 cause it was the easiest to get for me.
I just changed the oil in my MK7 GTI (around 300hp) with MOTUL X-cess (5w40) and my god did it ever make a difference!
Use semi synthetic 10w30 replace at 3k kms. As for oil I try different brands from motul, gulf to fanfaro.
Think the last oil change I did was with Motul 7-series (fully synthetic) 10w40 because central Italy gets HOT
I've recently switched to Motul because the Castrol pouring spouts seem to have gone away and Motul's also become more available.
tenho usado o motul 7100 numa ybr 125 , mas estou achando overkill
I won't recommend Motul for Gixxer 250
10w-50 7100 makes the engine run a little hot and refinement goes for a toss (Personal Experience) even Gixxer riders group agreed on this one and it is not even as good as Ecstar oil used in the showroom.
