Engine oil Mobil or OEM Mazda
These engines need 40w either 5w40 or 0w40.. I ran 0w40 Mobil 1 syn euro formula for the 60k miles I had my GTI, it's cheap and readily available in 5qt at Walmart, thinner on cold start up it when hot is still 40w, it's also the factory recommended by Porsche
Mobil 1 ESP 5W30 and Delvac 5W40 are right next to each other at Walmart and usually within a dollar of each other in price. Our 2 cars use Mobil 1 ESP and my diesel Jeep uses Delvac 5W40. Both are good oils, so I think it will just be your personal preference. Blackstone tests will tell you the story on your oil and intervals better than Reddit.
Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40 in an ALH since new. 10K OCI, engine with 280K running like new.
Mobil 1 ESP 5W40
Mobil1 is great oil and what I personally use.
One of my cars has 240,000 miles and burns 1/2 a quart in 10,000 miles using Mobile 1 5W-20
I personally am changing my own oil with full synthetic on my 23 2.5T every 6000 km or so. No need other than peace of mind for me. Doing it myself only takes 30 minutes and $35 in oil, filter and crush washer.
For [Naturally-Aspirated Skyactiv engines](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SkyActiv), it is highly recommended that you use Mazda's own(Idemitsu) high molly GF-5 0w-20. [Arguably it is one of the best oil for skyactiv engines](http://www.cleanmpg.com/community/index.php?threads/45295/#post-357910).
It depends on what ur using the car for. I’ve used super tech, Mobil 1, and pennzoil and haven’t found a single difference in feeling, temperatures, or oil consumption.
My free oil change just ended And I switch to mobile 1 for this oil change. The result is i got worse gas mileage with the moblie one oil. Like 5 MPG worse.
