Engine oil Mobil or OEM Toyota
Mobil 1 0w20 ESP. Advance Auto and some Walmarts have it.
I used to get my 0-40 Mobil at WalMart for my Audi, because they were the cheapest.
Mobil 1 Advanced 15w50 automotive oil. Yes you heard me right. No it doesn’t cause clutch to slip. $25 for 5 quarts at Walmart. Best protection against friction and wear money can buy. 11k and zero issues. No metal shavings on drain plug after break in with factory oil.
Use toyota 0/16. Or Mobil 1 0/16. Liqui moly is also very good.
Audi uses Mobil 1 at the dealer level. Stick with that.
I've been using Mobil 1 0w30 in my NA 2018 CX5 for 180,000 miles , no issues and runs quieter than 0w20 .
My daughter has a 2016 Civic bought new. First oil change was at 200mi with Mobil1 Extended, and then oil/filter changes at 15,000 or 20,000 mile intervals until 86,500. Switched to Restore and Protect and after 1k miles I changed the filter and cut it open, there were zero sludge deposits, and oil color looked new.
I'm fairly sure Mobil1 makes the Toyota branded oil, which is what I'm running in my 2023 Hatchback XSE. I'm using the Toyota 0W8. I also plan on keeping my car for as long as the wheels turn.
5w40 if its drinking oil during vtec, I usually use Mobil but get whatever cheapest
I was running it in a VR6 engine, and couldn't believe how much extra chain and lifter noise there was. I put up with it for a couple weeks, thinking it might get better but it didn't, so I switched to Castrol Edge 5w-40 and noticed the difference immediately. Noise means wear, so I feel comfortable staying away from M1 for my VR6 engines.
