Engine oil OEM Mazda or OEM Volkswagen
I use an oil extractor on our 2016 Tiguan, my 2016 A4, and 2023 Arteon. All have done a great job and make an oil change an absolute breeze.
For Naturally-Aspirated Skyactiv engines, it is highly recommended that you use Mazda's own(Idemitsu) high molly GF-5 0w-20. Arguably it is one of the best oil for skyactiv engines.
I have a 2024 Jetta S with the 6 speed. Mine used about a 1/4 of a quart of oil in the first 500 miles. I topped it off and it hasn't use any since, now at 5K.
But then we replaced it with a SkyActiv Mazda3 that used 0w20 and proceeded to have a good long history with that motor that had 0 oil consumption in 125K miles; I did all of the oil changes myself and it was always 4.5qts in/4.5qts out every 5k miles.

2014 3, 0W-20 full synthetic (whatever major brand is cheapest) from brand new, every 7500 miles.
170k, runs like a top, burns not a single drop between changes, compression and fuel mileage exactly the same as new.
I use Mazdas 5w-30 Ultra DPF. Mazda once said that this was the oil that they're using, so I guess what's used by mazda can't be too bad for the rex
Varies too widely, my trans am takes conventional oil and inexpensive filter and is an easy job, while a Porsche 911 requires removal of the oil pan and expensive oil, while my emission cheating Jetta only can use $10/qt special oil. Can be from $40-400.
My previous MK7 GTI used a quart about every 3K miles from the day it was new until I traded it at 212K.
This is not fine. VW oils like 502, 504, 508 and 511 are not typical oils. They have a different additive package and the viscosity is different, like the extended performance 5w30 is not the same viscosity as a 504 5w30. The 504 is thicker and is closer to a 40w.
