Engine oil RED LINE or MOTUL
I am using Motul 8100 X-Cess since first oil change in my car (at say 2000 miles). Don't have any problems with seals
Mobil 1 0w-40 is approved by VW, Porsche, MB. If you don't mind the price, Redline 5w-40 is excellent for our 1.8T engines. From the oil analyses I've seen, Redline has shown a few \"Parts Per Million\" less in metal wear than Mobil 1 5w-30 or 0w-40. Redline has more Moly than most oils. But for me, a few PPM is insignificant over 7k-8k miles. I still use Mobil 1 though cause it's cheaper (Costco) and can be found anywhere.
Never tried Royal Purple but have used Redline a few times before and will continue to use it. Great stuff!
I use Motul 8100+ 5w-40. Best oil I have ever used.
Definitly noticed a difference from dino to synth, through research redline seems to be one of the best....so thats what i use
Wear values perfect ! Looks like Redline is lowering the Moly value some . Your nox is normal but new plugs or wires could help lower the values, Oxd is elevated by cleaning effect of the POE base and lab equipment hates Redline, no problems though. Second change on this oil will drop OXD values. As I said before I have not seen this formulation before but it looks ROCK solid. Good TBN retention.
I use Synpower since 20k. But I've decided to try an imported euro spec 5W40 full synthetic for a real good price for a change. Motul 6100 Synergie 5w40 at $5.11/qt with free shipping.
RED LINE oil.... nothin beats it.. the real racing oil... very expensive.. but you gotta treat ya VR right
