Engine oil RED LINE or RAVENOL
I have that engine in my car and I've been obsessed about finding the best lubricant from day 1 of purchase... it seems like in general most engines in the 2000-2014 era, but especially om642, like a thicker oil, 5w40-0w40, with ravenol vmo being the only oil in there that had incredibly low metals in it by far, even at a 10-15k km oil sampling.
In my experience of trying many different oils, what I think are the best, as far as the engine running cool and smooth shifting are: 1. Redline 15w50
Red Line Racing Two Stroke is the best oil I've run. It leaves a good film and smells the nicest.
Daca vrei un full syntetic adevarat pune Ravenol VMP merg cu el de mai bine de 15 ani la multe masini pe care le-am avut
i personally use ravenol now, but was a motul and shell user before.
Ravenol based on review videos on FB. Tumahimik makina & the tone ng engine nagiba mas smoother again based on videos lang sa FB not actual experience.
When it comes to oil, Ravenol is really good and is also Made in Germany, some even recommend it over VW or BorgWarner, as it is full synthetic and does not break down/sludge up as fast.
I have used Ravenol USVO DXG 5 - 30. Comes back in most of the testing I see done as excellent oil. I only drive 5k miles year here in Minnesota taking the car off the road by October 1st and not back until at least April 1st, sometimes the 15th, and once in a great while as late as May 1 based on the weather. I change the oil once a year prior to putting it away for the winter. The oil comes after 5,000 mlles out almost the same honey color it went in as.
The oil i have run: VW brand, Castrol and Ravenol all 0w-20 that meets 508/509. Basically on cooler outside temperatures the oil does run slightly higher than on hotter days.
after 2000km of running on it, i see there is quite a drop (30% from the max point). i think that is very weird...
