Engine oil VALVOLINE or AMSOIL
I ran Amsoil in my 2002 7.3 for years and it worked well for me.
This weekend, the oil that's in it is coming out (it's clean) and Valvoline Restore and Protect is going in. Rationale is there will undoubtedly be deposits on the pistons, in the piston ring grooves and ring lands.
Valvoline is ok, but that specific oil does not have the rating required for your vehicle. AMSOIL has by far better additives to clean/restore the engine. If you are currently using AMSOIL, then continue using it.
I use Amsoil, all 3 holes.
The Engine oil is proven, the claim about the gearbox oil helping to find neutral easier was true for me, and the primary fluid does just that.
I have amsoil 20/50 in the crank, amsoil primary, and amsoil tranny. It’s the bees knees
I see all these people shit talking the oil, but they haven't actually used it. I've used it, and it's great. I put it in one car (pontiac) with over 70k miles and it ran way better than with normal full synthetic. I got a 02 explorer with almost 200k miles, it was idling rough as hell. I thought it would need a tune up, spark plugs, ignition coils, oil change and air filter. One bottle later, started it up and it was almost silent.
Any synthetic - I like the Amsoil.
I’m using Amsoil Signature oil.
Yesterday I took my car in for an oil change and got amsoil. I read countless comments of people hating on the price, this and that, but let me tell you somthing, that amsoil ain't a gimmick or a rip off. My car drove sooooo much better afterwards, it kinda shocked me. Smoother, seems faster, more. Consistent shifts, just left me feeling like she felt the best version of herself.
I use Valvoline VR1 in my street car and whatever full synthetic that is on sale for my Taurus and Titan.
