Denso Engine radiator

Put a few more $ in and buy a slightly more expensive one. Preferably from a bigger brand - Denso, Koyo etc. guaranteed to be better quality in most cases and fit better.

Pros: better quality, better fit

  • Overheating:

I spent two years (off and on, as it only overheated when idling in 90+ degree conditions or when doing low-speed jeep trail climbing in the heat) chasing this on my rig. Over time, replaced fluid, thermostat, radiator cap, clutch fan. No joy. Finally pulled the radiator, and the front fins were horribly blocked. Replaced with a new Denso, and problem solved. Only issue with the new Denso was that the mounting rails on the new radiator were shite, but it was a matter of four bolts to swap over the old rails (with upper shroud still attached) to the new radiator.

Pros: problem solved, effective cooling
Cons: poor mounting rails

I replaced the aging radiator in December. It went smoothly, everything came apart and went back together as the Toyota Gods intended.

Pros: went together smoothly

I did change a radiator on my Previa few years back. It's more of a maintenance thing (if you ask me). Any car of that age will most likely have a bad radiator/ or clogged up radiator.

Pros: maintenance thing
Cons: bad or clogged radiator
Vehicle: Toyota Previa
