  • Leaks:

I had a leak/split in the top of the radiator and bought a factory DENSO replacement part from Rock Auto with free shipping for my 2001 Camry that fit like a glove for $100.

Pros: factory replacement, perfect fit
Vehicle: Toyota Camry

Koyo Engine radiator

My '09 had the bad number, so I bought a Koyo radiator and spent an afternoon swapping it all. That was ~6-7 years ago.

Pros: easy to swap, long-lasting
Vehicle: Nissan

Koyo radiator is the move, it’s all aluminum, no plastic to worry about, the drain plug is legit and there’s a port to add a coolant temp sensor if you want gauges. It has an extra row for better heat exchange and dissipation my only complaint is there’s no aftermarket specific dual cooling fan set up which I feel would do wonders for cooling the engine bay at idle .

Pros: all aluminum, better heat exchange, legit drain plug
Cons: no dual cooling fan setup

  • Overheating:

I recently did a timing belt job on my is300 and now the car feels weird. I replaced oe denso radiator. The first startup was very rough. After some tinkering with the car by letting it idle for a while, reving it slightly, the car seems to be alright with no check engine light or any missfire codes. However I do feel like the engine vibrates just ever so slightly more than it used to. A barely noticeable difference but I feel like something is not right. The car now also has weird cold starts. The engine only revs up to a 1000rpm and then goes down from there, where it usually would rev up to 1500-1800rpm on cold starts.

Cons: engine vibrates, weird cold starts
Vehicle: Lexus

Denso Engine radiator

The towing package radiator is 1" thick if I recall, I have used rockauto.com to find the radiator. The last one I bought was a Denso, I haven't had great luck with non-OEM radiators not leaking. There was one I bought that only lasted w years.

Cons: leaking, short lifespan
