Engine radiator OEM BMW or KOYORAD
The radiator you could go OEM or NVA, but Koyorad is proven solid also.
For your turbo Baja, [Koyorad](https://ebay.us/m/yadARd) is the creme de la creme.
I went with a Koyorad radiator from rock auto and then I also replaced the inlet and outlet hoses with OE. A new OE radiator cap, too. Subarus are fairly sensitive to cooling system parts, so for any mechanical bits (cap, water pump, thermostat, etc) I highly recommend spending on OE.
Just dealt with the same thing with my AP1. The plastic to metal seam fails eventually and causes the leak. I got the Koyorad OE replacement and it was around $100 and took an hour to install.
Koyorad if you want good OEM fitment and a fucking drain bung plus good cooling even for modified engines (we’ve put a bunch of the larger alloy ones into rx7’s)
2004 E46 320i manual with 116k miles. Bought it just over a year ago for £2000 probably spent around £1000 on it (radiator, air con, rocker cover gasket, oil sensor, boot switch, coil pack), not too bad for a 20 year old car I don’t think. Only thing that doesn’t work on it is the cruise control, it used to but recently stopped.
im steady at 75°C (167°F) with stock Ka, koyorad radiator, fanshroud and oe/oestyled clutch fan. and iirc, a stock nissan thermostat. hottest ive seen was like 89°C (192°F) and that was sitting in traffic on a hot summer day. idk how im running so cold lol.
I went with a Koyorad, but for how much I’ve spent, I should have gone with a crossflow (either Supermiata or Flyin Miata). I also did a coolant reroute, which made me really regret not getting a crossflow
bmw makes a sad excuse of a cooling system with brittle plastic, sad plastic joins and a pathetic plastic and metal radiator, like that's gonna last
During Covid a lot of brand new genuine BMW parts had some issues so I had to change my radiator twice, was covered by BMW dealer after loads of back and forth. (There’s two part numbers for B48 engine main radiators and the dealer said the part number used was not meant for the car but the other radiator clearly wouldn’t fit)
