Fuel filter Mann or OEM Volkswagen
If you treat it right, the vw will outlast the Honda easily. If you're not going to be able to keep up with oil/ fluid/ dsg/ fuel filter etc... then you should get the Honda.
Every single BMW I have ever owned has come to me with the factory date coded filter, every single one gets a new Mann in it and every time it runs better. Change your fuel filter ppl.
You may want to perform a fuel pressure test at idle and 2000rpm. If you havent done so already, replace the fuel filter.
How old is that fuel filter? The "die on a hill" is a typical scenario for these old EFI Japanese cars when the filter is beyond saving.
The car has 220k km on now, and VW has had to replace the high pressure fuel pump twice (2019 and 2021), and the in tank fuel pump once while dealing with random misfire issue that has since been sorted by yearly fuel filter replacement - fuel quality in my country is very bad.
I replaced my V7 III fuel filter with a Mann MWK 44.
I had a spare intake so I took the two sensors from that fuel rail and swapped those along with a Mann 6.6 bar fuel filter onto the car. Started the car and it turned on and ran wonderful (so it seemed).
I had a Mann fuel filter from the previous owner so gave that to the shop. They called and said it was a fuel filter not an oil filter so they didn't need it.
The best would be OEM. But Mann is what I used to replace mine. Didn\u2019t feel any difference though and I had about 108k on my car.
So i went and replace the fuel filter to a Mann fuel filter but that did not solve the issue.
