Gear oil AMSOIL or RED LINE
For me I used in my daily and race car, Motul or Redline, I've never had any issues or problems with the Dealer too.
I went with the redline on my QSW wagon that has second gear grind in cold weather. It made a world of difference, the transmission feels perfect now.
Redline MTL is the only lube I could notice a diff and it plain shifts better.
I was having trouble a while back with a grind in third gear when I was WOT and shifting fast from 2nd to 3rd. I recently put my car back on the road and put in Red Line Heavy Shock Proof Gear Oil. I have shifted a half a dozen times fast into 3rd and I have not got a grind yet . I like this stuff so far.
I use redline MT90.. it works great (But please read below.. there's more to this). Eliminates the notchyness and allows for quicker shifting at higher RPM.
I love it, I noticed the difference right away. All the notchiness was gone or at least a lot less noticable after putting the mt90 in.
I know its a great product but only difference I noticed is less notchy when cold.
i say yes, redline in my 8v trans made it quieter and it shifted better, redline in my rebuilt 020 has done the same.
redline, GL-4, MT-90 but check with REDLINE apps for you car (MTL vs MT) . THis stuff is liquid ball bearings for the GERMAN car, doesn't work in Italian gearboxes though.
