Headlights Hella or HELIX
As GTI's indicated (and he must have known I'd jump in ), that beam pattern is perfectly normal for OEM Mk5 halogen reflector headlights.
Not sure about the taillights, but the OEM headlights are made by Hella. I would recommend you search for Hella brand headlights.
I like Hella because they have good output.
I put in 7 inch hella ipf style lights with h4 bulbs, work great, cost a bit more than Chinese knockoffs, but not $200.
Finally got my hands on some Helix headlights after months of waiting. I couldn't be happier with the results!
My favorites are the Hellas as they have the best balance of range and shadow-free pattern. Bosch also lack shadows, but have slightly less range. The Cibié have the best range, but do have a less even spread of light, especially on high beam.
I bought [these headlights](https://www.ecstuning.com/b-helix-parts/mk75-style-headlight-set-black-trim/hvwg7hl-75b2~hlx/) with [this LED kit](https://www.ecstuning.com/b-morimoto-parts/d2h-d2s-2-stroke-led-bulb-kit/led1509kt/). So far so great. They look amazing, the LED upgrade is literally night and day. Fitment is good, no issues, and they shipped pretty fast.
I would get some Hella or Bosch smilies and order the euro connectors and wires, then splice into the harness. More expensive but well worth having the genuine lights.
It's decent my dad has headlight for his f11 from them because the Hella are not available so it was planned to be temporary but it's pretty fine few manufacturing flaws but you need to look close to find them.
I just got burned on the terrible quality of Helix halogen projector headlights, and put the stock reflector headlights back on. Yes, the Helix projector lights were that bad.
