If it's still functional, remove it, dry the interior carefull with a heat gun and apply a silicon clear sealant around the headlight-- where the black and clear plastic meet. Put everything back together.
I just replaced both of my assemblies with Hella's from FCP. cost me about $260 for both housings and they came with all the bulbs. just make sure all of the bulbs are installed properly. one of my projector beams was not snapped in all the way so the cut-off didnt looks right. Just had to re-seat the bulb.
As GTI's indicated (and he must have known I'd jump in ), that beam pattern is perfectly normal for OEM Mk5 halogen reflector headlights.

Alternatively, I don\u2019t think the pre-LCI needed a new interpretation. Either way, they are both better than newer version, which still look to me like they are upside down.

This is why I got the 2019 model. The lines are far more aggressive in my opinion. Really appreciate the hexagonal look. Beautiful little details that really tie the car together.
Facelift, I have the pre though
LED headlights that replace the rectangular sealed beams can probably be aimed. That's the only good things about them. They won't provide any more light than sealed beams if they are road legal.
Water inside after first wash
this is not normal and happens only on modern made Hella headlights which are garbage. You will also experience extreme fading of the lens in a few years and a circle burned in from the projector shine. I've also heard about the inner black piece fading but can't say for sure because I haven't seen it myself (the other issues - I have) The quality has dropped insanely since the cars production era.
