Headlights Hella or OEM FORD
There are no alternatives. It’s OEM Hella or Chinese crap. There are no options in the middle. There used to be DJ Autos but have been long discontinued.

Get a set of Hellas. Restore them. It’s the best option and you’ll have great headlights for life
significantly better than the Sylvania OE ones for light output, but with an OE style cutoff so you don’t blind other drivers.
i have the hellas; im extremely satisfied with their quality and output
I swapped the Hella conversions in on my '87 16V last year. These part numbers worked just fine: Low beams x2 Hella 003177862 HLMP MOD 164X103 H4 High beams HELLA 003177821 164x103mm H1 High Beam Halogen Conversion Headlamp Kit
Might be an unpopular opinion but get a pair of Hella Vision Plus (1A6002395) H4 headlights, ceramic H4 connectors and 100/90w H4 bulbs. Night and day difference without messing with the beautiful classic look.
I have bought two used headlights from ebay before and had no issues. Just make sure the part number is the same as what your car has and that the label has "hella" specified.
hella 7” lamps that take a modern LED bulb for this exact reason, looks oem but headlights actually work
We had the same issue on my wifes 22 explorer limited.
Dealership had it for a full day and traced the issue to a bad ground causing a power draw in one of the headlights and it was replaced under warranty.
My F150 headlight, the most popular vehicle in the USA, costs $1600
this is not normal and happens only on modern made Hella headlights which are garbage. You will also experience extreme fading of the lens in a few years and a circle burned in from the projector shine. I've also heard about the inner black piece fading but can't say for sure because I haven't seen it myself (the other issues - I have) The quality has dropped insanely since the cars production era.
