Ignition coil Bosch or Denso
I'm running Bosch and have been for 45k miles with no issues, even tuned running extra boost which demands more of the ignition coils.
I have Bosch in my 2015 currently with no issues for 30k miles so far
If you want to aftermarket
DENSO 673-3204 is best
Grab some Denso coils from Rockauto. Shouldn’t take ten minutes to swap them. The locks on the plugs are about guaranteed to snap (if they’re even still on it), don’t panic, just plug them back in and don’t worry about the locks. The four 2AZ Yotas I own and the 3MZ Sienna have been just fine without them.
I’ve ran Bosche in all my M3’s with great success.
I got the Denso from Amazon it wasn’t cheap but you don’t want misfires with after market cause the car will idle and drive like shit.
I’ve used Bosch without issue as well.
Coils: buy Bosch or Delphi coils. DO NOT BUY THEM OFF OF AMAZON. You would be better off leaving them then replacing them with an aftermarket brand.
I assumed it was bad and while it was sad to get rid of the OE Bosch, Autozone had a C831 coil that I was able to pick up. I think the boot was slightly too small but I’m 90% sure it’s making contact but I am still not getting it to arc.
I had all new Bosch coils installed on my e46 M3 about 30k miles ago. They worked fine, until one day the car went into limp mode due to bad coil / misfire.
