Denso Ignition coil

If you go to Autozone and open the box of their 2004-2005 coil pack, IF it has a "Denso" or "Made in Japan" sticker on the bottom, it's 100% OEM.

Pros: 100% OEM if Denso

Bremi Ignition coil

Rating 2.5
  • Jerks:
  • Warning light:

Replaced all 6 coils with a set of Bremi from FCP 60k miles/9 years ago. I’ve got a new set on the way thanks to their lifetime replacement program. The customer service rep said they should be changed every 3-4 oil changes which sounds crazy to me He said I got luck they lasted 9 years. But I was expecting more like 100k not 60k. Granted I was going uphill with a full load with lights/AC/stereo all on. Probably should have lightened the electrical load but it’s never been a problem until today. SES light came on. Engine started misfiring. Pulled over immediately. Ran the codes. Got a P1353 (cylinder 6 misfire/coil).

Pros: lasted 9 years
Cons: misfiring, only 60k miles
Mileage: 96560 km
