Oil additives LIQUI MOLY or Lucas
Anyone ever run this liquid moly oil additive did last night and can already feel the engine running smoother and quieter
What made the biggest difference was an oil additive. I usually regard those things as "snake oil," but this is a Liqui Moly product, so I decided to give it a go. It's called ViscoPlus for Oil. At one point, I only burned one quart in 1000 miles, a significant improvement over 1 in every 500 miles. The last go-round with Viscoplus it was somewhere around 750-800 miles before I had to add a quart. I highly recommend the Viscoplus.
I had a cheap Volvo S40 commuter with bad valve stem seals back in 2011. I was about to tear into the engine, when a trusted friend/parts manager/guru recommended I try a can of Liqui Moly Motor Oil Saver as a last ditch effort. Within a couple drives the symptoms were gone, and last I heard the car is still running strong today.
I'm using Castrol Edge (or whatever) full synthetic 5w40 + about 250mL of Lucas engine oil additive (that stuff has done amazing things for other high-mileage engines I've had in the past).
yeah, dumped some lucas in and it went away after about 10 minutes
Without Lucas in my engine I'll go through 1 quart of oil every 1800-2000 miles. With Lucas in my engine I'll go through just about 1 quart every 5000 miles Through my personal experience, it helps stop oil consumption in every single car I've used it in.
I decided to flush the engine any way first before I started the job and pulled the engine out. I put two bottles of car lube engine flush in the oil because of the amount of oil it holds (8.5l) and left the car ticking over for 45 min's wile I cleaned it. I took the car up on the ramp and drained engine oil and filter. Wow the oil come out black like a diesel. I decided to put new oil and filter in and run the car. I added Lucas additive run it up. I erased the fault code and took the car for a run. Omg the difference the car was like a rocket and no fault codes. Its been 7 days now and its like a different car.
