Oil filter OEM Toyota or Mobil
Anyway I always ran Mobil 1 5W-20 full synthetic with their filters and change every 5k, but have since just switched the Costcos brand of oil. Can get it for a pretty good price when it goes on sale so I just stock up. Reviews have said it’s a good quality oil so that’s just what I use.
Do the oil change and use a high-quality filter such as mobil 1 . Then change every 1000 miles.
I use Mobil 1 High Mileage Synthetic along with the Mobil 1 filter.
This is probably going to get buried, but my quarter of a million mile 2.7 has an issue with oil pressure on initial startup.
Only when it's below 20° Fahrenheit, and only with fram ultra synthetic filters.
I've changed oils a number of of times and it's never made a lick of difference.
However, running a mobil one oil filter has dramatically improved cold start oil pressure.
My two cents, spend money on the filter, get a good deal on the oil that is within spec
I changed my oil filter at the 350 mile mark and upgraded to the Mobil 1 M1-104A oil filter. Just passed 1300 miles and it's doing just fine.
I'm using the M1-104A on my 2022 INT650 and haven't had any issues. It's got about 2500 miles since I changed the oil/filter after the break in.
I did change mine also on 1600km. I noticed that while the engine oil that drained was clear visibly, the oil that came out with the filter was a lot darker. Is this normal for 1600 km or the first oil change is really needed?
I usually pay 28 EUR for Oil ( 4L synthetic 5w30) plus 7 EUR for the filter and change it myself at a Hobbywerkstatt for 7 EUR. Total cost = 42 EUR.
I have found that my engine runs smoothest with the Toyota 90915-YZZD3 filter and Valvoline full synthetic. The first time I put an OEM filter on the engine and fired it up, i was like woah! thats even smoother than usual!
That M1 filter looks like the same media as every other filter I've ever seen on an FSI. The funny looking seal on the ends is useless since it's bathed in oil anyway. The only seal that matters is the one that sits in the housing and since I've never seen it leak I'd say that one is a waste of money
