Oil filter Wix or STP
WIX 57202. hands down the best filter
Wix XP gave a nice pressure boost...about 10 PSI
Wix xp after watching project farms videos on filters. Historically have used all sorts of filters and never had an engine failure. Use full synthetic and change every 5k miles for twenty five years without any problems.
I saw 10 psi more oil pressure across the board from switching to a WIX XP filter. Did this now on all my cars and have the same results. Pretty phenomenal. I used to idle at 20psi like you and now I idle at 30.
What kind of oil filter are you running? My LQ4 was always 40 at idle when warm, about 50 to 60 cruising. I started using AC Delco filters and ended up just under 40 at cruise and 20 hot at idle like you have. Went to a Wix at my next oil change and got the original pressure back. The Delco filter was restricting pressure. No problems since with Wix
What kind of oil filters are you using? Ac delco filters caused similar oil pressure on mine, switched to wix and now it always has like 45psi at hot idle, and around 60 at cold start.
I wouldn’t worry about who does the service. Just don’t use shitty Filters. Use OEM or Wix.
I used the WIX as it looked like it matched the dealer installed filter better. It also has internal O rings that seem to seal it better on the shaft.
I’ll be replacing the filer with the Wix 58128 over the OEM Mopar simply because again it’s a decent budget filter and I can’t justify the $45 Mopar price tag, any thoughts on this as well?
Dont buy a Stp, had my oil changed on my 09 Legacy, a few days later I notice a drip and the usual burning smell while driving . Took It back to mechanic and they said there was a dot on filter so they swapped It out. Burning smell still there but leak was not seen, so I bought a Purolator and changed It myself now no problems.
