Bilstein Shock absorbers
KyOatey
Rating 4.0

If you can swing it, you're better off with new springs and shocks (Old Man Emu kit, or OME springs with Bilstein 5100 shocks), even if you have to save up.

Pros: better off with springs
Cons: restrict the travel

If you're in the market, I highly suggest Bilstein 5100s. I have them on my 1st Gen and love em.

Pros: great for the front
Cons: not long enough rear
Vehicle: Toyota Sequoia
Part number: 5100S

I have the B6's and Eibach Pro springs & they work great on my '16 R. They firm-up the ride and cure any lean. Overall, they are a little bit stiffer in all DCC settings.

Pros: firm-up the ride, cure lean
Cons: little bit stiffer

Bilstein Shock absorbers
ROH ECHT
Rating 4.0
  • Bottoming:

I do have B8's paired with H&R Supersport springs and H&R front and rear ARB's(rear set stiff and front to least stiff) on my MK5 GTI. Ride quality under normal daily driving is a bit harsher than stock...but when it is driven with demands for performance, it really comes into itself and gets more stable and reassuring at speeds over 140mph and when cornering.

Pros: more stable and reassuring
Cons: bit harsher than stock
Vehicle: Volkswagen

recently convinced a customer to go with bilstein on his suburban and he has been ecstatic. I only use that brand in my stuff for sure. Made my xj at 6.5 inch lift ride smooth as butter

Pros: smooth ride

I have installed KYB Excel-G shocks on my 1998 Subaru Legacy GT and 2002 Lexus LS430. Both cars had worn out shocks and the new ones were an improvement.

Pros: new ones were improvement
