Bilstein Shock absorbers

  • Body bounce:
  • Bottoming:

I replaced my old worn out KYBs with some Bilstein 4600s and it's a night and day difference. The Bilsteins give it a way comfier ride and they're a little firm but they aren't harsh, I'd definitely recommend Bilstein.

Pros: comfier ride, not harsh
Cons: a little firm

Monroe Shock absorbers

I’m running some Monroe mono tubes that I got off rock auto ???? somewhere there is a listing of shock absorber lengths by number, after I got my mounts situated I looked up shocks using that.

Cons: ride rough as hell

  • Body bounce:

What i did to eliminate my bounce was adding air bags. change out the shackle bushing to either OEM or polyurethane, you choice i went with polyurethane. Your leafsprings are probably gone, especially if they are OEM. You can change them. But try out the air bags /shackle bushing and also shocks (bilstein) if you haven't yet. For my motorhome, when im loaded, i run around 80psi non loaded 50psi no bounce even when driving on dirt roads to campground.

Pros: eliminate bounce, better ride
Cons: leafsprings probably gone

I would get the Bilstein 5100s, Bilstein 5100s are a night and day difference from the Westcott preload collar lift (it's essentially a spacer lift)

Pros: night and day difference

I did 5100’s on my ‘19, 4/5 setting front lift, zero back. Nice and level-ish now that I’ve got a steel bumper. Feels better than stock by a wide margin

Pros: Feels better than stock
Vehicle: Toyota

Bilstein Shock absorbers

They’re complete garbage. i had one go bad at 11k. I also had all of them replaced due to the bottoming out issue on my diesel. I couldn’t wait to get them off my Jeep. They last about 20k. Replaced them with Bilstein 5100s.

Cons: complete garbage, go bad
Vehicle: Jeep
Mileage: 11000 km
