Shock absorbers Bilstein or Sachs
They are a little stiffer than stock. I’ve had Bilsteins on a 4th Gen Camaro, an 2002 Grand Prix, and a 2007 GMC Envoy. They were stiffer and improved handling on all the vehicles they were put on. You won’t be disappointed with the 5100 if you are looking more a little more performance than stock.
I ran Bilstein B8 and Eibach on my previous E30.
I really liked it, but apparently Eibach springs are very soft, so there are probably many better options for track use.
Bilstein/HR sport combo. Great for a street car if your roads arent perfect
i have a small lift, dont offroad, and commute 70 highway miles a day. i run bilstein 4600s and love them.
Amateurs. I run Bilstein B8's with H&R OE sport springs + 034 solid RSB. About an inch drop with much better damping. I personally still drive it like I stole it with a grin the whole time.
On my 2019 GSW 4 Motion, I’m running Golf R springs F & R, Golf R RSB, and B4. With Continental Extreme DWS on 18” wheels, the ride, turn-in, and overall handling are very reminiscent of my Gen VI GTI.
After a few hundred miles, these Bilstein 5100s feel night and day better than the old Dobinsons. I know it's not apples to apples, since the Ds were bottom of the line and 5100s are presumably mid, but they control the body roll and bounce much better. The old ones were pretty stiff unless fully loaded, but these Bilstein are pleasant when empty and supportive when loaded, can't wait to upgrade the fronts!
Definitely go B6. B4 is basically stock. B6 is performance improvement but like, balanced. OEM+ performance improvement while retaining comfort.
Shock wise people say great things about bilstein 5100s, but I've got no experience with them.
I had a 2018 Z71 and went with the Rancho RS 9000XL Quicklift. Was a great setup. I now have a 2020 AT4 and put on a set of the Bilstein 5100’s. Don’t like them at all. Ride quality is not much better than the factory and I still have the rear end hop going over bumps at speed.
