Spark plug Autolite or BRISK
the plugs are autolite platinums AP3924. the wires are the blue ignitors from techtonics. the rest of the ignition is stock. do i regap the plugs, or should i leave them where they are now. i'm leaning towards leave them since it ran fine before and i don't want to deal with a no start issue when i start it or the first time with the new cam.
I use Autolite plugs plat 1 cheepos that get me 400 miles per tank and seem to handle continuous high rpm output ( drove across the US in four days)
Now I'm running autolites one range colder than stock at .028 and they run great...
Last time I tried the 3922s and I was pleasently surprised with how smooth the car runs. I haven't had a misfire code since I changed over.
Also I'm using the 3922's and love them. They went a long way in solving my timing pull probs w/ my ATP Stg3.
i put in some 3922s and i can hear it misfire when its idling, but it seems fine when im giving it gas.
Don't put autolite (autocrap) in your car, they're junk.
I've gotten autolites a few times for some domestic cars and they've been 0.005\" - 0.010\" off seemingly across the board, compared to what the box said they should be. And I wasted a day hunting down a misfire that turned out to be a bad spark plug out of the box.
Don't go with Autolite XP iridium. I had on my Jetta and one of the tips basically melted after 25k. They suck.
I took a peak at mine the other week and the gap was HUGE so gapped them down to .035 and now cold starts are ROUGH. The pugs in there suck, anyway - old autlites.
