Spark plug NGK or Autolite
I use NGK BKR6E plugs I switched out my factory Platinum for these beacuse alot of people on Audiworld did. They all said that it had a smoother idle with the coppers. They were right.
It has been satisfactorily argued that the inexpensive Autolites work as well as the expensive Iridiums, with the understanding that the Autolites must be changed more often.
My 99 NB 2.0 came with those 3-prong NGK's. Worked fine for the recommended 40k miles
i just changed mine out.. i put in the autolite 3923's ($4 for the set) . they seem to work fine. one thing to watch out for though - they were all gapped differently out of the package. be sure to measure the gap before putting them in, just in case. (the gap should be .028)
OK it is now monday and I changed the plugs on friday I tested the power this weekend and it seems like it was the spark plugs..... The power I had lost was to much after I changed the plugs I felt the difference....... NGK platinums are the sh*t.......
NGK a little bit pricey but well worth it.
i just installed the factory NGK's... love'em , a little pricey though
I've got the BKR5EUP and they are great. 15k miles with no noticable wear.
Seems like you did everything except swap out a $2 spark plug. I had a misfire on cylinder #1 first then cylinders #3 and #4 until I went out and bought 4 new Autolite 3923 spark plugs and put them in and BINGO no more problems the car is running strong and not throwing any codes.
I tried the 3923's and my car ran like arse - rough idle etc.
