Spark plug NGK or Champion
if you don't want to pay for VW boxes, NGK ruethiums are a killer deal on rock auto, I've run 2 sets through out alltrack without a hiccup, about 60K total.
I changed
- 4 new NGK Iridium sparkplugs
Now post how much they want to change spark plugs. I've usually seen dealers asking for $200-$250 on a 4 banger. Or I can buy some nice NGK plugs for under $60 and get them changed within my lunch hour in the parking lot.
I run NGK Rutheniums now and they've been excellent handling 30psi of boost with zero blowout even at wider than the .024" gaps that most tuners recommend. Oh and theyre MUCH cheaper at $8/ea vs $40/ea for the NGK race plugs.
I went to colder plugs from ngk and noticed a difference in shift pattern for the better (my car is an auto).
OEM plugs are NGK as well.
I changed my plugs recently and qent with NGK Ruthenium gaped a step colder and they are working well for me, seem better than Motorcraft but thats just my opinion.
Went with NGK spark plugs that was bundled with some generic wires and coils, not ideal but it’s all I could afford at the moment
I just got some fakes with the EAC logo on the box and the accurate Japan stamp with the line under the p. I could tell they were fake just by looking at the poorly machined threads, let alone the crooked ground electrode that looks like it is made out of casted tin lol.
I bought 2 sets of NGK Irridium plugs from Amazon sellers that turned out to be counterfeit. The electrodes were completely worn off with 60k miles on them. They are supposed to last 100,000 miles. The cars were misfiring and had spark knock.
