I highly suggest only getting genuine mopar. Myself and others have had issues with the generic part store thermostats that were fixed by using mopar.
Thermostat is broken or someone changed non-original thermostat.
Those do not work.
Only working (which is also oem) spare part is Motorad Cold climate zone thermostat 5461-82K.
Other does not work. Tested 10+ thermostat on here skandinavia.
I replaced mine with this one and it has been running perfectly for 6+ months after my original one stuck open. I would not buy anything other than Mopar.

Yep, these are a known bitch to bleed out the air, as well as aftermarket thermostat's not working well after replacement. I have seen some go thru a few to get one that works.
I had issues with the MotoRad that every parts store in Canada seems to sell
issue that i noticed is that the jiggle pin is inside the bridge, compared to the standard one. i have installed the thermostat, bled the coolant, and still made sure that the jiggle pin and head gasket carve out lines up at the 12oclock position when installing; but now theres some ticking noise sometimes and i can feel my heater blowing really hot air (warmer than the usual heat).
Motorad isn't a good brand. You don't want to do the job again in a year.
Installed a Motorad thermostat and noticed the temp gauge dropping on the highway. I never had this issue before I changed the tstat
