I have a continental timing belt with 180K km on it. Yes it’s time to change it, but it still looks good. They are good belts, my engines life depends on it.

Pros: good belts, looks good
Mileage: 180000 km

DAYCO Timing belt

Dayco, continental should be fine, as long as it’s not China Amazon stuff. Gates it usually good but as with anything these days quality control is a crap shoot.

Pros: Dayco, Continental should be fine
Cons: quality control is crap

Dayco is an OE manufacture for many manufacturers, it's a pretty solid belt. Quick answer is yes you should get it changed ASAP, I've seen a lot worse belts than this one and they drove to the dealership just fine.

Pros: pretty solid belt

I have read a lot about the wet timing belt issues, and still went ahead to purchase a 308SW with 85KM...for the 1.2 Puretech, I believe companies like continental contitech have produce a CT1228 belt specifically to tackle oil on the belt, and I believe it's important we use the correct and good quality oil..

Pros: CT1228 tackles oil
Cons: wet timing belt issues
Vehicle: Peugeot
Mileage: 85 km
Part number: CT1228

Vehicle: Volvo V40
Mileage: 35000 km
